The first day of our Erasmus school holiday to Helsinki, Finland started just like any other day for me. I woke up early, went to the shower, got dressed and sat in the car with my mom, who took me to the Budapest Liszt Ferenc airport. When we arrived there she had to come into the terminal, because the parents had to sign a form, so we can cross the border between Finland and Estonia by ferry. After everyone arrived, we checked in, handed in our baggages and waited for the plane to depart. At the airport we drank a coffee and spent some time checking out several stores. The first part of our flight was around 2,5 hours and lucky our plane departed on time, thus making us arrive at Riga airport around 12 o'clock where we still had time to look around. After another hour of flying we arrived in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. We picked up our luggages and using several forms of public transportation we headed straight to the hostel, where we stayed. After settling down for a little bit, we met up with our host-students who took us around the city for a while to get a glimpse of the Helsinki and the Uspenskij Cathedral from the outside. Following the evening walk we were quite tired and hungry after traveling all day, so each one us got a pizza from Pizza Hut and sat down together to eat dinner. At the hostel everyone took a shower and went to bed to get a good night's sleep.
